On today's life drawing class we had a warm up with few 1 minute drawings. After that we were practising lines of action. We were limited to only five lines per drawing. I really enjoyed using this method. It really helps me to find the essence of the pose. Next we were drawing using arrows for each joint. The arrows were to help us understand the direction of each part of the body. But I found those arrows useless, because it's easy to tell the direction just by looking at the model. Finally we were limited to only 15 seconds per drawing and could use either of these methods. I've used the first method, lines of action. By using this method, my drawings came to life. They were full of action and the weight is clearly visible. And even though 15 seconds doesn't look like plenty of time, I didn't have any problems with completing my drawings.

Today we went to Natural History Museum. On the last life drawing class I've learnt a lot about line of action and how to draw quickly. However, I'm not happy with today's drawings. You can't see the life inside of them. The curves don't go in the right direction and it's really hard to see where is the weight of the people I've drawn.
Here are few examples of today's drawings:
